Pool Leak Detection Calabasas

Caltech Pools specializes in pool leak detection for all residential & commercial pools, spas, & water features in Calabasas.  We are proud to have spent the last 25 years pioneering and advancing the swimming pool industry.

As the inventors of Torque Lock Staples and founders of LeakTronics Leak Detection Equipment, we’re not only trusted by swimming pool home owners, but we’re also the source for many local pool companies throughout the United States and abroad who depend on our swimming pool leak detection equipment and swimming pool crack repair tools.

Calabasas Pool Leak Detection

Simply put, we find pool leaks and then repair them with incredible accuracy.  Your pool will naturally lose some water to evaporation, some to splash out and some to backwash waste-water. You may also gain water from rainfall. Our rule of thumb is that if you’re routinely adding more than one inch of water to your pool per week, you may have a leak in your swimming pool.

Pools are meant to be watertight, of course, but sealants will deteriorate, while other parts of your pool shift and settle, or just plain wear out over time. Pools can leak through any of the fittings or accessories, plumbing or even right through the shell. It is important to repair pool leaks, not only to save water, heat and chemicals, but also to prevent undermining pool structural components, and washing away fill dirt.

Calabsas Pool Inspections

Calabasas is a very transient county.  Residential swimming pool owners come and go.  For that very reason, we offer pre and post pool inspections to ensure pool buyers and pool sellers are equally protected from the devastating effects of a swimming pool that leaks water.

We’ll make sure all the pool equipment is working properly including:

  • Time clock, valves, pumps, motors, filters, skimmers, lights, heaters, etc.
  • If there’s a spa, we’ll make sure it’s working properly
  • The lights and the electrical will be inspected thoroughly
  • And… If you want a complete leak detection, we’ll do that also for a nominal charge.

Calabasas Structural Pool Crack Repairs

  • Cracked Gunite
  • Hairline Cracks
  • Cracked Steps
  • Invisible Cracks

Using Torque Lock™ Staples along with a quality epoxy Caltech Pools can repair pool cracks, easily.

For example, water leakage through the floor or wall of a swimming pool can soften the soil in which the pool is embedded and cause weakness in the support of the pool. They can also weaken the structural integrity of the pool structure itself.

In some cases, it is difficult to tell if you are losing water from a crack, but even a hairline crack can allow water seepage.  Simply covering cracks with an epoxy or plaster finish will not suffice, because settling, shifting or erosion will cause that crack to continue to widen.

Such cracks need to be stabilized and then refinished.  Pool cracks need to be fixed correctly and quickly to prevent critical structural degradation.  Our Torque Lock Staples prevent cracks from widening and allow for a rock-solid crack repair.

Calabasas Pool Main Drain Repairs

Main drains are usually located on the lowest point in the pool, so the entire pool surface slants toward them. Most of the dirt and debris that sinks to the bottom of the pool exits the pool through these main drains. Like all leaks, leaking main drains need to be repaired as soon as possible.

The pressure of the water at the bottom of the pool could lead to massive water loss if the main drain has failed. The water loss from a broken main drain can lead to serious financial costs and truly jeopardize the underlying soil. Caltech Pools can repair your main drain quickly and professionally.

Calabasas Dual Drain Conversion

Caltech Pools has been doing single to dual main drain safety conversions since law was effectively passed.  We utilize this method because single main drains have a higher risk of creating entrapment problems than properly designed multiple drain facilities.

Main drains must be a minimum of 36 inches apart to avoid entrapment issues.  Safety for your swimming should not be overlooked.  Each year, nearly 300 children under the age of five drown in residential and public pools.

Few people know the hidden dangers from pool drain or suction entrapment.  Pool drains with broken, missing, or faulty covers can entrap hair, the body, limbs, jewelry, clothes, and can cause evisceration.
